Nature enthusiasts the world over will flock to Point Pelee National Park in Ontario’s deep south this spring to enjoy spring migration. I’m thrilled to announce that Quest Nature Tours will once again be there! This park, one of the oldest of Canada’s National Parks, has long held the distinction of hosting an excellent concentration and variety of migrant birds, making for excellent and often unparalleled viewing opportunities. It’s a particularly good place for beginner and novice birders to hone their skills. Working with the Friends of Point Pelee and Parks Canada, we’ll be helping Festival participants find and see more birds and to learn more about the phenomenon of migration and bird behaviour and ecology more generally. Here’s a sampling of what you can expect from us:

Guided Bird Hikes
On the weekends of May 7 - 8 and May 14 - 15, you can join our Quest leaders on one of the Park’s official guided bird hikes. We’ll be leading various morning, afternoon and even evening excursions. These easy 2-hour excursions are limited to 12 participants (with a couple of exceptions) and all take place on easy, flat trails that cover a variety of habitats. We'll be finding and enjoying birds, interpreting their behaviours and giving you bird-finding and identification tips too!
Lunch-and-Learn Sessions
Quest leaders will be presenting a number of the Park’s “Lunch-and-Learn” presentations at the Visitor Centre. Sessions presented by Quest Nature Tours leaders include the following:

• Birding By Ear (with Justin Peter): Friday, May 6 at 11:30 AM, and Friday, May 13, at 12:30 PM
