Central Panama

We are thrilled to return to Panama for fascinating wildlife discoveries. Here we’ll find what may be the most accessible experience of nature in the New World tropics, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful immersion experience of diverse habitats and wildlife. In particular, the tour will serve as a fantastic introduction to the birds and mammals of Central America, in addition to herptiles, butterflies, and a tremendously varied flora. We’ll visit habitats typical of the Caribbean slope, the drier Pacific coast, and the highlands in between. On this trip we’ll be in the company of Dan Riskin, scientist and broadcaster, who shares his contagious fascination for wildlife, with a particular interest in bats. Once you spend time with Dan, it is likely you too will find yourself smitten by these beguiling creatures to an extent you could not previously have imagined.

We’ll be staying at just one lodge for the entire tour – the world-famous Canopy Tower – which offers a perfect base for exploring nature in the Canal Zone. You can literally watch wildlife outside your bedroom window! We’ll have the opportunity for plenty of discovery at a relaxing pace.

Join Dan Riskin for this highly educational and multi-dimensional exploration of central Panama!
