13 days | Namibia | Private Journeys
Namibia’s spectacular emptiness is a gem for those in search of authentic cultural experiences amidst a profound quiet. The bulk of the country is a high, rocky plateau sandwiched between two great deserts. The desolate Namib Desert, said to be the oldest in the world, stretches seemingly forever presenting gigantic sand dunes against a cloudless blue sky. The Kalahari, home to the San tribal people is a desert of mythic proportions.
A diversity of locations and cultures awaits the intrepid traveller on this cultural safari. We will have the unusual privilege of meeting the Herero, Bushmen and Himba peoples, whose traditional lives have not yet been converted for public consumption. Facing change and modern life with courage and the conviction, they are opening slowly to the world.
This is a landscape of astonishing desolation, breathtaking in its brutal beauty and always surprising in its human dimension. On our journey we travel at a relaxed pace, enjoying the finest lodges in the country and savouring this moment out of time.
Tour Cost (per person):
