Nepal & Bhutan

Nov 15-29, 2023

15 days | Bhutan | alumni UBC Travel Club

Dates subject to change slightly.

Yearning for an uplifting experience? Spectacular Himalayan views, golden temples, fortress monasteries, and traditional mountain villages fill this energising tour. Begin your journey in the cultural epicentre of Kathmandu exploring the old town and medieval Patan, visiting the rose-brick temples, colourful shrines, and spectacular stupas. Then travel to the amazing and remote wildlife preserve of Chitwan to observe the many rare endemic species. Walks and hikes in the spectacular setting of Pokhara round out the fantastic variety of experiences we enjoy in Nepal.

A short and oh-so-scenic flight takes us to the ancient Kingdom of Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon, the Kingdom in the Clouds. Travel overland through a stunningly beautiful landscape dotted with fortresses and temples. The drives (and walks) are truly spectacular, decorated with snow capped peaks, blissful valleys and fields of rhododendrons. And to cap it off take that exhilarating hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
