Burgundy is the land of wine and water! Join Paul Davenport for a week of gentle vineyard cycling as we travel by barge along the Yonne River in the heart of Burgundy. We’ll visit picturesque villages and ancient medieval towns and sample Burgundy’s fine wines and cuisine.

Between daily guided cycling excursions, relax on board the 20-passenger barge Fleur, exclusively chartered for our group. We’ll enjoy breakfast and dinner on board (except for one night to enjoy an independent dinner in Sens) and have a packed lunch to take with us on our cycling routes. Choose from longer or shorter rides by classic or ebike (limited availability) accompanied by our onboard cycling guides.

Start cycling from Moret-sur-Loing with its cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses. Pedal through picturesque landscapes that transition from lush vineyards to quaint hamlets, past ancient churches, rustic farms, and vibrant fields. Explore the fortified gates of Villeneuve-sur-Yonne, the stunning Gothic architecture of Sens and Auxerre, a town steeped in medieval history. The tour begins in the always enchanting city of Paris where Paul will guide you to some of his favourite sites including two museums and provide personal suggestions for a day on your own.

Ship Information

The 20-passenger Dutch-flagged Fleur is specially built with a width of 5m (17ft) to fit the smaller locks and canals in France. On the upper deck is a lounge with large windows, a roomy sitting area, a dining area, and access to the half-covered sun deck, a comfortable spot for a morning coffee or evening aperitif to enjoy the scenery while cruising. Wi-Fi available on board.

Guests are accommodated on the lower deck in ten twin cabins (9 m² – 97 sq.ft.) with two separate single beds. Each cabin has a private shower, toilet and basin, central heating and air-conditioning. Cabins are equipped with a mini-safe and hair dryer.
