Czechia Music Tour

The beautiful capital of Bohemia is host to the celebrated Spring International Music Festival every May. Join Nancy Hermiston for a stimulating visit to the ravishing city of Prague and its less familiar, but equally gorgeous sister cities of Brno and Český Krumlov.

Brno was home to the composer Leoš Janáček (one of Nancy’s favourites!) During our time here we’ll visit one of Mies van der Rohe’s masterpieces of modern architecture and attend a concert and an opera in the Janácek Theatre. Cesky Krumlov is one of the prettiest towns in Europe with a stunning castle overlooking the Vltava River and beautiful Renaissance and baroque buildings. In Prague we’ll visit key musical sites, and explore the historic town from our base at the charming four-star Hotel Century Old Town, a centrally located 19th century building.

Nancy Hermiston will start the day with informal presentations, followed by exclusive visits and guided walks with Art Historian Harriet Landseer. We plan to attend seven performances in Brno and at the Festival in Prague with special access to people and places arranged by Nancy.

The city of Prague is at its loveliest in May with the Festival presenting some of the world’s best musicians, symphony orchestras, and chamber music ensembles in the world. Together with the excellent music presentations, we will relish the historical backdrops of monasteries, churches, and libraries with liberal servings of Czech beer!
